Yesterday was an important day for Expo 2015. After lengthy and enduring work, the first stone of the American Pavilion was finally placed on the ground of the site. The event was celebrated with a ceremony of excellence that included the Mayor of Milan, Giuliano Pisapia , the CEO of Expo 2015 Giuseppe Sala , the American Ambassador in Italy, John Phillips , and the American Secretary of State John Kerry who connected via video-conference and defined Expo 2015 as a great opportunity that the U.S. will seize with enthusiasm, because innovation and food security have always been a lifeblood in our DNA .
The theme statement of the pavilion, projected by architect James Bieber, will be American Food 2.0: United to Feed the Planet , and will showcase how the U.S. are responding to the global challenges about food: an incubator of ideas and debates. The pavilion will appear like an old-vertical farm , and will include workshops, events and interactive expositions tape art to celebrate the American story of success as well as its great agricultural history . Furthermore, during the Exposition, Milan will be invaded tape art by the famous food trucks , which will bring with them food from the streets of America.
Barack Obama gave the official yes of the U.S. to Expo 2015 during his last visit to Italy in March with the Italian Prime Minister tape art Matteo Renzi. The pavilion will be set up and funded by an association of private companies named the Friends of the U.S. Pavilion and currently includes partners such as GE, Brand USA, Uvet, DuPont, Illy, 3M, McKinsey & Company and FleishmanHillard.
Italian entrepreneurs are optimistic about Expo 2015 . 66% think that hosting the Expo 2015 could help revitalize the Italian economy.
