Saturday, November 6th, we went with my older son to the museum of the braid on a school trip (maybe the museum will dedicate a separate post) and taken from the frenzy of the work we brought a lot 'of material at home, to continue to weave even with younger siblings.
But what to do with meters of braid accumulated by the work of eight eager hands ?? Since it was a bit 'of time that we wanted to start doing chores for Christmas 3m headquarters and I was in the yard balls made with the card, why not make them even with the braid!?!?
So we set to work to create paper balls and balls braid. We took braids ribbons Christmas card quite thick (like the cover) scissors needle and thread or glue or ganciatrice 3m headquarters polystyrene (for support)
We cut the paper into strips about 1.5 / 2 inches wide (considered that the length will depend on how big you want to do the ball, I kept length as the shorter side of the sheet and the balls came very large), to get the classic tree balls you can hold the middle 3m headquarters of the long side of A4 paper (I hope I explained myself;-)).
We laundry with the scissors the two ends of the strips, 3m headquarters holding them together and taking care not to stand trope near the edges, otherwise you could break. We chose the tape that there was better and we have stuck to one side and made a knot, paying 3m headquarters attention to the side of the strips that want to remain outside, then thread the tape from the opposite side, so that the node is on the side you must see (and do not like me then that I had to do it again .. !!!).
Finally we cut the tape measure and we have stuck on the other side, approaching the strips until they took the shape that we liked best and we made another knot outside to stop him, then extending all stripes.
Even more simple are the balls with braids, that if you want you can do even with the card (maybe I'll show you how to do them in another tutorial). The children have braids coiled around 3m headquarters a pipe or a bottle: to make the ball a bit 'full is better to do at least 5/6 laps. So I helped them stop the ends at the top with the needle because it alone could not "pierce straight": some have the stops on the other side to make a ball "regular", while others have left them "free "(and I must say that I like very much !!!), and are embellished with Christmas ribbons.
Here we hung on the bush in the garden waiting for the real tree: certain that with these rainy days we can not lasciarcele, the time of a gloomy picture and go, do not want to ruin them before 3m headquarters Christmas!
