The translation of the tale follows, but because it is based on a Welsh oringinal I also give the Welsh version mythbusters duct tape of the tale at the bottom of this page.
A long time ago, during the age of Arthur, there dwelt in Penlly, in the region of Bala in the place known to us today as Llyn Tegid a giant of a man knon as Tegid Foel with his wife, Cerridwen. They were both magical beings and they had two children — Creirwy, a daughter who was the most beautiful maiden in all the Islands of Britain and a son, Morfarn. Morfran was one of the ugliest young men in the entire world. He was crooked of body and his skin was jet black. As a result mythbusters duct tape of this he was also called Afagddu (utter darkness).
Tegid was a great warrior, and a blacksmith second mythbusters duct tape to none. People mythbusters duct tape from all four corners mythbusters duct tape of the world would come to him for his magical weapons and for his enchanted mail. So good was his personal mail that no weapon of war would ever cut into his flesh.
Because the nature of his son, Morfran, no one would converse with him and he stood apart from all other men. His mother, Cerridwen, saw this clearly. Of course, she felt for her son, and she knew full well that if he did not possess other skills then Morfran would never be accepted into the company of the noblemen of this land. As a result, and because she was knwledgeable in the arts of magic she decided to gift the boy with the arts of prophetic inspiration.

These were to be gathered mythbusters duct tape on specific days and pre-determined hours. And when they had all been gathered, Cerridwen mythbusters duct tape mixed them in a cauldron with water before mythbusters duct tape placing the whole over a fire. Now, the nature of this broth was that it had to be boiled continually for a full year and a day. And at the end of this time, whoever was the first to take a drink from the contents of the caudron he would be imbued with all the abilities mythbusters duct tape of its contents. Because mythbusters duct tape of this, Cerridwen place the blind man, Mordda to stir the contents of the cauldron. Of course, the fire beneath it would have to be constantly maintained. To ensure this she employed a young boy maned Gwion Back. Thus, with Gwion maintaining the fire and Mordda mythbusters duct tape stirring the contents as Cerridwen mythbusters duct tape added more water and herbs the whole was kept alight and boiling for a full year and one day.
The night before the contents of the cauldron was due to be ready, Cerridwen set her son, Morfran beside the caudron and she urged Gwion and Mordda to keep working all through the night. But Morfran was in Gwion's way as he attempted to add more wood onto the fire beneath the caudron. This final night, Cerridwen was so tired that, as she lay down to rest she fell into a deep slumber.
And as Gwion was adding more wood onto the fire three droplets jumped out of the cauldron before falling on Gwion's hand. The drops burnt his hand and, naturally, he licked the spot to ease the pain. The three droplets that escaped were the three magical droplets and as they were used up, the contents of the cauldron became a poison. With a bell-like note the cauldron exploded due to the pressure of the poison within. As the sound of the cauldron cracking echoed about them, Cerridwen was startled awake from her slumber. She strode towards the cauldron. With the magic droplets within him, Gwydion could clearly perceive what whould happen how. He knew that Cerridwen would be enraged because of what had happened and that she would instantly try to kill him. Cerridwen approached the cauldron and fell to her knees before her son. but, instead of the magical creature she was expecting, she saw only Morfran, mythbusters duct tape just as he had been before. In the end she coaxed the tale fro Morfran and she heard how Gwydion mythbusters duct tape had moved him aside, just as the magical droplets fell on Gwion's hand and burnt him.
