Nose clear tape

Scapa 16 | Scotch Ratings
Nose clear tape – The Scapa 16 surprised me with a pretty malty nose. It had something that made me think of bread and then there was a whiff of raisins (not too sure where that came from). After tasting it, there was scents of sweet vanilla and light caramel.
Taste – First sip made me go: “Oooooohh!” that is smooth. It’s as if there was almost not attack, it’s very light but very rounded. It slowly invade your mouth and takes all the room there is, but all in subtlety. There a feeling of lightness in there, almost clear tape like if it was floating on your tongue. There is a hint of ginger clear tape and pepper at the end. The finish is long and medium bodied, grassy and a little clear tape salty with a touch of peat.
Remarks – The Scapa 16 tasted nothing like any scotch I’ve ever tasted. It’s almost as if it was a different recipe but at the same time, brought back all the elements that are to be found in a scotch. I definitely will taste it again.
